This is a nice hotel, spotlessly clean, a good value, and beautifully decorated. The staff tries hard to please. Most speak a little English. But no hotel is perfect. I arrived in November during unseasonably warm weather. My west side room was uncomfortably warm. When I notified the front desk, I was informed (after some prevarication) that the air conditioning had been shut down for the season (for “ecological reasons”). It was suggested I open a small window pane. When this produced no results, I was given…yes, a portable fan to churn the hot air. I don’t know if the hotel provides portable electric heaters in the spring after the heat has been shut off (for “ecological reasons”), but this mode of operation seems a tab bit shy of four-star quality. The Ramada is a good choice for the heat of summer or dead of winter; be cautious otherwise. My ‘single person’ room was small but commodious and well appointed. It came with a free breakfast, a sumptuous spread in a luxurious dining room. The hotel caters to Westerners as well as natives and the tables is set with silver as well as chop sticks. However, the food and drink prices are high and the customers few. I had dinner in what amounted to an elegant private dining room.
