I have stayed at the Golden Crown Hotel 15 times in the last 4 years. GC is my home away from home. The hotel is under new management and I must admit that I liked the old management when it comes to their breakfasts. I liked the old breakfast a lot better because it was more Western. The new breakfast is more Asian and that is probably good for their usual customers. It is pretty bad when you can not get a cup of decaf (Sanka) coffee. They know what I mean now when I ask for an omelet
The hotel is in a great central location and it is safe to walk around it by yourself. Try Jacky's Steak House down the road. Excellent value. The hotel itself is about 5 years old if I am not mistaken. It is well kept and the rooms are good size. The service is excellent and I never have trouble getting my laundry done. In fact, love their laundry service. The people at the desk are nice and polite and work with you on any issue. I am always impressed when the door man goes out of his way and hails down a taxi for my female friend when she goes home. I highly recommend this hotel for anybody. The price is excellent for a 5 star hotel. Westerns will get the service they want. It has an ATM and it usually works and it is in a safe area.
Yes the evaluators are very slow, so allow enough time for them to come. And yes, the windows do not open and I DO NOT want them to open! I love their point system and I am trying to get enough points to earn a nice gift. I hope they continue the program beyond the end of this year. |
