Crowne Plaza Lijiang Ancient Town

After staying at a local inn for 3 nights, finally escaped to a proper hotel with excellent heating. I am impressed by the immaculately designed landscape and the furnishing in the room. Truly 5 stars in standards. Buffet breakfast has a good spread of western and local food. Room is huge and well-heated in winter. Has LCD TV, DVD player and Bose Hifi in the room. Wish I could stay longer in this hotel. Only downside is the location of its back gate, which leads to the old town. There are no clear signages that guides a guest back to the hotel.

This is an excellent hotel. The setting is beautiful. The services and facilities are first class. The only thing missing is a cash dispensing machine for international bank cards.

Probably one of the nicest hotels we've stayed at in China or anywhere in the world! Beautifully designed to blend in with the rest of the ancient town. Very clean and huge rooms. Out most of the day so did not fully use the facilities except the restaurants. Breakfast was a good spread. Food at the Chinese restaurant was good and reasonable in price. What also made this hotel special was the impeccable service by the Resident Manager Tommy Yap and his team. I emailed Mr. Yap beforehand with specific requests and was surprised to have him greeting us upon arrival. He attended to our needs promptly when we requested for the rooms to be on aircon instead of heater and also supplied humidifiers. His hands on management and attention to detail made our stay perfect. Would love to return someday and highly recommend to friends and family.

Pros: The Crown Plaza in Lijiang is beautiful. The design is stunning -- just perfect. Really quiet and sleek modern Chinese design. And the location is great too. It's right in the ancient town, and the whole thing is designed to look like part of the ancient town itself -- pretty cool concept.

Cons: The service was really bad. I know you get that typical cold, robot style service at any chain hotel, but the service at Crown Plaza was colder and more robotic than expected. I didn't see a smile on any of the staff's faces the entire time I was there. The staff in the restaurant was particularly dreadful, paying no attention to my group and making us feel really unwelcome.

补充一点，酒店的服务还是不错的，每个服务员都很友好，看见一个师傅趴在地上修补门框上的油漆，很是认真。

说实话，丽江古城已经快是一个shopping mall了，到处是差不多的银器店啦、披肩店啦、东巴纸店啦、皮件店啦、淘碟店啦等等，过了万子桥或木府往南，总算清净一点，和府皇冠就在这个最南边。
每天出去，出了后门就是古城，很好。
所有的客房都是两层楼仿古楼，虽然，卫生间的花格格栅门有点难开，但总的还是不错的，干净也很大。
餐厅有个院落，很安静，晒晒太阳不错，尽管高原的阳光很是猛烈。

丽江大研古城最好的酒店，不过和满城的客栈相比，价格高很多，但如果财力允许，还是建议入住皇冠假日。

庄园似的酒店，出入有游览车代步。房间宽敞（高级房），服务优。步行十分钟便到丽江古镇。

刚到酒店服务生就主动帮忙拿行李很有礼貌，先表扬一下。总的说来酒店位置方便，环境优美，服务态度很好，尤其餐厅服务员，每次去用餐都礼貌周到。但我觉得中餐厅性价比不高，西餐厅不错。推荐入住。
