Kunming New Era Hotel

hotel is located in a very good location. can still be better !!!

Located right in the city centre. Convenient for everything. Breakfast has a good spread.

We stayed at the New Era back in march and wanted a nice place to welcome our visiting parents to China. We weren't disappointed. The rooms were nice and clean with a great view of the shopping area below. The location couldn't be better. The breakfast buffet had a large selection of food including some western selections. The staff was friendly and helpful and the service was great. In particular an employee named "Sarah" went out of her way to welcome us and to answer any questions that we had our entire stay there. She speaks excellent english and was very eager to help make our stay a good one.

I stayed at this hotel between 17 Aug to 21 Aug at a non-smoking standard high floor room.

The hotel location is perfect for tourists who wanted to enjoy exploring the nanping padestrian street area.

The compliementary breakfast is better than most chinese franchised hotels, i.e. good but not like shangri-la, conrad etc.

Good facilities nearby,

Carre Four, Park n shop, pizza hut, KFC all walking distance.

For local food, try the cross bridge rice noodles at Jian Xin Yuan (100 year old shop) RMB 12 for the deluxe set. There are 2 shops within walking distance. Got to queue with the ordinary chinese for this fare. I tried it twice in my 4 day stay.

For foot massage, try Fu Qiao at Xi Shi Road. RMB 50 for 100 mins. About 1 Km south of hotel.

For budget travellers, go to the Yuan Tong Temple (Entrance is RMB8) and Cuihu Lake (Entrance is free)

Try the Jiuxiang and Stone Forest for those with time to spare.

I stayed in a nice room on 27th floor, an executive floor. Water pressure wasn't consistent and sometimes was a little on the weak side. Overall there weren't any other snags so it isn't too bad of a place to stay.

I liked the room. I was put on the non-smoking floor, very nice. I had breakfast in the western restaurant on the 28th floor, great ambiance. A business center is close by.

每次出差到昆明，必住的酒店，因酒店位置好，出行方便，购物也挺方便的。 一切都很如愿。
