Though we had a great trip to Kashgar, the highlights unfortunately don''t include the TianYuan. That''s not saying much though, as Kashgar itself is awesome, it just boasts decidedly average hotels. The TianYuan fails to deviate from that assertion. The beds were hard (but that''s pretty standard in China), the room wasn''t spotless, and the help wasn''t overly helpful. We didn''t check out the breakfast, as the Pakistan Cafe (on Seman Lu) boasted some of the finest scrambled eggs and roti I''ve ever had...we went back each day. Though the facilities are average, the price wasn''t too bad so we weren''t expecting the Ritz. The one redeeming quality of this hotel is its central location. Its about a 5 min walk to the main mosque, 10 mins to Karakorum Cafe (yum) and Pakistan Cafe (double yum) on Seman Lu. You won''t go wrong with this hotel, so long as you keep your expectations low, and realize that you aren''t in Kashgar to enjoy the hotel.
