Jinan Shandong Hotel

I checked the comments for several hotels in Jinan before I made a reservation and found that the Shandong Hotel had the most positive comments. So I booked it. Based on what I experienced it deserved every bit of praise it received.

Easily, the hotel's greatest asset is its surroundings. I'd read articles about Jinnan before I'd arrived, but the words didn't do it justice, the place is stunning. It's a smaller city with abundant greenery throughout. Near the hotel is the Jinnan Arboretum, which is well worth a visit. My room, 1716, offorded me really nice views of the city, and the sunsets were literally breathtaking. I'd have to rank it as one of the prettiest natural sights I've seen in China.

As for the room, they haven't overdone the luxury but it is very comfortable. The 43 inch flatscreen TV is quite suasive when it comes time for me to make an opinion ha ha! Also nice was the fact that internet access was free of charge, as opposed to some 5 stars I've stayed in before, as well as the on suite balcony, which was a great place to relax.

The only complaint I can come up with is that there's a bit of a smell that emanates from the bathtub drain, nothing too major but it's noticeable. Easily recommendable overall.

The surroundings are great. Due to it's location in the arboretum, green plants are everywhere. I like the fancy location very much.

But the hotel building looks like a commercial building rather than a hotel. When we entered the building, we even doubted that we had entered the right place.I realized and finally believed it was a hotel when I saw the reception desk.

The sightseeing elevators are wonderful. I esp like the room, as large as I expected and the arrangement is also great. The bed is king size and very comfortable. But the bathroom is a little disappointing and the decor is too simple, can't meet the standards of top tier hotels.

Everything is satisfying except the hotel restaurant. We had a disappointing experience there. We wanted to taste something local and special but didn't want to go out, so we called the restaurant on the 1st floor to ask if they could deliver some food to our room so that our family could have supper while watching TV and chatting, but they refused and asked us to go downstairs by ourselves to fetch food. We finally decided to go to the restaurant to have supper. The most annoying thing is that it's unbelievably pricy and the food tasted incredibly awful. An ordinary small fish costs CNY 98 and the tofu gives out a strange smell. My son is keen on dumplings, but this time he only tried one dumpling and gave up. We three spent 430 in the restaurant but still felt hungry. My son had a bowl of fast noodles when we went back.

All in all, I'll choose this hotel again but never go back to its restaurant.

服务绝对对得起5星，整个酒店开业时间较久，稍显陈旧，但服务是我住过酒店里最好的。

环境很好，服务很好，房间床的设置（羽绒被）太热，要开特低温才能睡，浴室巨大莲蓬头太费水了，两者都不够环保，特别是在缺水的山东。

酒店的各个方面均符合标准五星级~~早餐好..房间好..很喜欢~~是到济南出差或旅游的朋友们的绝佳选择..距离泉城公园..泉城广场很近..衣食住行都很方便~~推荐推荐!

酒店不错，位置好，方便，价格贵些，看接受能力，经常住非常好，下次还会住。房间很大很宽敞，装修很豪华，层高很高。值得推荐。早餐挺丰富的，选择很多，服务也很好
