Interesting little guest house with 8 rooms (big for Xitang) in the heart of the old water town. None of the staff speaks English but with a smattering of very basic Chinese we got by. The staff went out of their way though to assist. We called the hotel from the station and someone came on a scooter to meet us and called a taxi to take us to the hotel (which we'd never have found on our own). We had chosen to book the room with a traditional Chinese bed, having been warned at the time of reservation that it might not be a good choice for Westerners. After going through a maze of narrow passages connecting one building to another, we found our room at the top of some steep stairs. It was perfectly adequate but the bed was terribly uncomfortable (we enjoyed the experience anyway)! We'd recommend this hotel for an overnight stay in Xitang: it's basic but clean and inexpensive. Does not serve breakfast but does serve coffee and tea in the lobby and courtyard.
