The Tongmao Hotel (Tongmao Dajiudian) is located in Lujiazui Shanghai's financial district. The hotel is a ten-minute drive from the stock trading center and five minutes' drive from the main shopping center. Both the Hongqiao International Airport and the newly opened Pudong International Airport can be reached within 45 minutes by car.
In total there are 234 rooms including standard and deluxe rooms as well as deluxe and royal suites. Room facilities include central air-conditioning, an international direct dial telephone, a mini-bar, an in-room safe, a bath, and a satellite TV.
Other hotel facilities include a business center with conference rooms of various sizes, as well as many recreational facilities including a night club, a gym, a swimming pool, a tennis court, a beauty parlor, a sauna, a billiards hall, table tennis tables, and a bowling alley.
Although not in the best of areas for travelers, the Tongmao does offer a fairly good range of restaurants to tempt the palate. The Brasserie Oriental Grill Room offers nice steaks and other Western delicacies, the Four Reasons Cafe serves various western cuisines, the Huyongge serves various Shanghainese dishes and Dim Sum, and the Amaojiao offers high-quality Cantonese cuisine.
