For me, hotel is a very important part for travelling. Cleanness is the most basic requirement but far from enough. Usually I only choose those famous international chain hotels.
This May we went to Changshu for a short trip. Changshu is a small city only about 2 hour drive from Shanghai. We booked two nights in this hotel and my comments are as follows:
1. I like the free coffee offered in the room, not of instant style like in most other hotels; 2. Facilities are all of relatively famous brands that I know, such as Roca sanitary facilities, Philips LCD TV, Sony radio, Panasonic steam iron etc. 3. The bedding's cozy and the bed is also larger than in most other hotels with same star rating. 4 various pillows are available on each bed. 4. convenient for business travellers. All kinds of stationery are available on the desk. 5. If you want a room with view, you'd better choose northwest-faced or southwest-faced rooms. Yushan Mountain can be seen in those rooms. The view of the northeast and southeast faced rooms is obstructed by two tall buildings under construction. 6. There is a supermarket and several fast food restaurants nearby. 7. the design of the coffeehouse on the first floor is just so-so. 8. bathroom is not large enough and the room is not soundproof. 9. Difficult to take a taxi.
Overall, the hotel is still quite new and needs improvement especially in service.
