Established in 1900s, the Raffles Beijing Hotel (Beijing Fandian Laifushi) has played witness to many of Beijing's most significant social and political events. Faithfully restored, its commanding French-Oriental colonnaded façade is an icon of Beijing's historical heritage. It reopened on 27 June 2006 and features 171 tastefully appointed rooms, four distinctive restaurants and bars, five well-equipped banquet venues and a lofty lobby adorned with a procession of graceful arches.
